I was late for the dance. I didn't get in until after, like, 2 a.m. 'cause the Anime Music Video contest
replay lasted so damned long (but was well worth it). Once again, Theo and Ahna were in charge of music,
this time for the dance. And again, they stayed up 'til 5 a.m. to run it. I'm surprised people stayed
that long. For a while it was pretty sparse with at the very least this one dude that seemed to stay
for every single song and stayed on the dance floor even if he was alone. That's dedication! Anyway,
big props to Theo and Ahna for jockeying the discs.
Here's a really blurry picture of the dance. In this pic, the girl with the striped stockings is Ahna.
She's a really great dancer! So's Theo! Perfect choices for running the dance 'cause they
know all the great stuff to play.
Here's another shot of them and what little dancers were left.
Here's another closer shot which is a little less blurry. Again, Theo and Ahna are in the middle. (I
wonder who's running the music now?) It must been just before a number was winding down. Can't say who
all is here though. I'm sure that they were all at the AMV contest too 'cause the place filled up after
that let out. A friend tells me it was dead for much of the night earlier. The one in the bright red
costume is Stephanie, dressed as Nuriko from the ever-popular Fushigi Yuugi.
Ahna's still dancing. Guess Theo went back to the DJ booth. Pretty much after this, I got sleepy and
went back to my room. So ends a fun Saturday night.

Day Three - More Panels, Wrapping Up
|
Here's my last set of photos from the con, which were taken on Sunday between panel hopping and wandering
the hotel. The con and just about everybody were winding down, but there were still lots of cool
costumes to be photographed, and I got to meet some cool people!
Here's Steve Bennett, head of Studio Ironcat, pictured with an unidentified fan. He's a really cool, fun
guy. Very approachable and fun to listen to. Plus he always regales the fans with his hilarious stories.
A former animator turned head of a comic book company... I wanna be like him when I grow up.
Here are, once again, Rebecca and Carmen showing off their lovely Tenchi Muyo! costumes. Rebecca
is dressed as Ryoko and Carmen is dressed as Princess Ayeka. Really good costumes!
As every con-goer knows, Sunday's the best day for bargains in the Dealer Room. There, I saw [insert
name here] dressed as Deedlit from the Record of Lodoss Wars series.
Here's an exhausted (and blurry) Theo, this time in a Sakura Wars outfit. Theo, go get some sleep!
You deserve it!
Here's Hayley again, this time dressed as Kiyone from Tenchi Muyo! Today, she, Rebecca, Carmen,
and others, went around in a huge group of cosplayers, all dressed as members of the Tenchi Muyo!
cast. It was amazing, to say the least.
See? Here's another one! Here's April again, cheesin' for the camera! Yesterday she was Ukyou. Today
she's dressed as Sasami from Tenchi Muyo!
Here's Sylvia in the dealer's room, dressed as Rabi~en~Rose from Digi Charat.
Here's Katie once again (pictured earlier
as Bulma's mother from Dragonball Z), seen here as Tsunami from Tenchi Muyo!. She is a
part of that aforementioned group of Tenchi Muyo! cosplayers.
Here's a picture of "SailorNaboo" dressed as Ash/Satoshi from Pokémon. She's holding my rare
Pichu plush. She wouldn't let me take the picture without it. She was also in the "Knights in White
Satin" sketch at cosplay last night.
Here's Chris Vance once again, dressed this time as Akuma from the Street Fighter games.
He was actually dressed as Akuma on Friday as well and he was, of course, Piccollo on Saturday
for the cosplay. Really cool guy.
Here's the Tenchi Muyo! cosplay group! From left to right:
Katie as Tsunami, Rebecca as Ryoko, April as Princess Sasami, Amy as Ryo-Ohki's puppeteer, Carmen as
Princess Ayeka, and Andy as Nobuyuki Masaki (Tenchi's father). All that's missing is...
...Tenchi! Here he is, played by Joseph. I'm not sure if he's part of the cosplay group, but
they should get together if they aren't.
Here's one of the last few pics I took on Sunday. Here are [insert name here] and [insert name here]
dressed as a pair of identical Team Rocket Grunts. Man, I'm so surprised that so many people were
dressed as Rocket Grunts like me. Goes to show that Pokémon ain't totally dead yet!
Ah, here's a great group shot of a lot of people, including that Tenchi Muyo! cosplay group, but
now I've got everybody! From left to right:
Alex as Kasuhito Masaki (Tenchi's grandfather), Amy as Ryo-Ohki's puppeteer, Hayley as Kiyone, Rachel as
Mihoshi, Carmen as Princess Ayeka, Rebecca as Ryoko, Jon as Tenchi (guess they did have a Tenchi
already), Andy as Nobiyuki Masaki (Tenchi's father), Katie as Tsunami, April as Princess Sasami, John as
Ryouga (not from Tenchi Muyo! but from Ranma½), Raissa as Chun-Li (also not from
Tenchi Muyo! but from the Street Fighter games), Emily as Washu, and finally, Kenny as
Trunks (he's from DBZ, not Tenchi Muyo!).
Great job all around, guys!
Here's the final pic, not actually at the con, but at my friend's house. This is my pal Dan, sporting
one of Meldandy's Sanosuke costumes that he bought at her booth. Kinda ironic that he didn't have a
costume the whole con, yet managed to get one after the con was pretty much over.
Well, that's all my pics from Sakura Con 2001! I really enjoyed it and I hope that I get to see you all
again next year at the Sea-Tac Hilton for Sakura Con 2002! I'll be sure to have my camera handy!
