As day turned into night, the con continued to swell with guests, which means more pics!
Here's a really badass costume of Ryo-Ohki from Tenchi Muyo! It's just so great, I can't find
any words to describe it. Excellent work done by [insert name here].
Hey, it's April and Carmen again! Back for another year of excellent costumes, especially Carmen with
her several quick-changes throughout the weekend! Here they are dressed as Misao and Kenshin, both from
Rurouni Kenshin.
It's Link from the Legend of Zelda game series, specifically from "Ocarina of Time". You can
tell 'cause of the white shirt underneath. This version of Link seems to be the most popular. Perhaps
next year someone will go as the "Wind Waker" version. Anyway, Link is played by [insert name here].
Uh... I don't want to run into this guy at night.
Hey, it's Yuffie from Final Fantasy VII! Haven't seen many Yuffies in a while. Here she's played
by [insert name here] Excellent work on the boomerang not to mention the costume!
I'm told that this is just a generic hentai tentacle. I originally thought it was the Purple
Tentacle from the Maniac Mansion games. It could easily be both. I wonder who's in the costume?
Here we have Chun-Li's alternate costume from the Street Fighter games. It's cool 'cause this one
is the less popular version. Everybody's more familiar with the poofy Chinese dress that she usually
wears. Chun-Li is played by [insert name here].
What'd I tell ya? Carmen does another quick-change and now she's playing Misato from Neon Genesis
Evangelion. She must have a giant steamer trunk full of costumes for this weekend.
Yay! It's Toad from the Super Mario games! Toad is such an underrated character! It pleases
me to see that Toad still has fans. Here he's played by [insert name here].
Here's Aerith from Final Fantasy VII. She was also in the game Kingdom Hearts, but I'm
not sure if this is an alternate costume from that game, but I know it's defintely Aerith. Here she's
played by [insert name here].
Bad ass! It's the giant Medical Mechanica monster from episode five of FLCL! Talk about
obscure! I love this costume! He even has both guns! Here he's played by [insert name here].
Here's Curtis Chin. I ran into him last year dressed as Squall from Final Fantasy VIII. He returns again, this
time dressed as Aoshi Shinomori from Rurouni Kenshin. Excellent work on the costumes and a
great eye for detail!
Here's Umi, Hikaru, and Fuu from Magic Knights Rayearth Umi is played by "topleka" (who, by
the way, was a big help on identifying most of the characters for this year's write-up). Hikaru is played
by her sister, [insert name here] and their friend, [insert name here], plays Fuu. Thanks again, topleka
for your help!
Here's Nadia from Nadia, Secret of the Blue Water and Sumomo from Chobits. They're played
by [insert name here] and [insert name here].
Here's my sister, Nethel, playing Shampoo from Ranma½. Her boyfriend, Rodney, is playing
Prof. Oak from Pokémon. Nethel had trouble getting her wig to come out right. Rodney
works at a hospital so it wasn't hard for him to get a lab coat.
Here's Curtis Chin once again as Aoshi Shinamori from Rurouni Kenshin, but this time he's with
friends. The guy on the left (I think) is playing that ninja character that Gabe (of Penny Arcade
fame) created. Gabe is a guest at this year's con so it wasn't surprising to see some of the Penny
Arcade characters being cosplayed as. I could be wrong though. That could easily be some ninja from
some anime or game. Also, there's some guy in the back whom I can't identify. Sorry!
Here was this weird dude I ran into dressed, as he called it, a "generic mecha". I think he pieced it
together last-minute just to have a costume. Then he gave me that piece of paper he's holding and
disappeared. I really have no other comments.
Hey, it's that little Belldandy from earlier. And she's got a friend! Aww...
All right! It's Spike from Cowboy Bebop, one of my favorite anime ever! I love this dude's costume!
He even got the big, poofy green hair! All he needs to complete the look would be a cigarette in his mouth.
Spike is played by [insert name here].
