Day Two - Saturday Morning Explorations
|
After a nice rest, I got up early the next morning to get tickets for Cosplay that night. Thankfully, I
got there before there was a line so I was able to run around and go to various panels. I, of course,
took the time to snap a bunch of pictures.
Here's Koinosuke in his little doghouse and his master, Jiyu Nanohana, both from Jubei-Chan. Must
be hard to crouch into that little doghouse. Here, they're played by [insert name here] and [insert
name here].
AWESOME! It's Alucard himself! Hellsing is an awesome anime! That is such a totally accurate
Alucard costume! Big props to [insert name here] for playing him so well!
Here's Kero-chan from Card Captor Sakura and I do believe that's the exact same No Face from
Spirited Away that I photographed
earlier. There were more than one, but I'm pretty sure from comparing the photos that
it's the same one.
Cool! It's Princess Zelda herself from The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time! Great work on
the costume! Hyrulian clothes are so intricate! Here she's played by [insert name here]. I
ran into her last year playing
Iris from Sakura Wars. Cool! She even has a mini-plushie of Ganondorf!
It's "Sailor Naboo" again! This time she's Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter books. You
wouldn't think to see a Harry Potter character at an anime con. But hey, anything goes here at Sakura
Con. She was in Cosplay later that night. More on that later.
It's [insert name here] as Princess Zelda again. And this time she's got a mini-plush of herself
and she's brought back that bad-ass bazooka with a little pink ribbon around it. She's got the most
awesome accessories! I gotta give her props again for the excellently detailed costume. Job
well done!
Here we have [insert name here] dressed as a Pikachu girl! Cute costume!
Here's another Sakura and Kero-chan from Card Captor Sakura. They're played by [insert name here]
and [insert name here].
It's Master Roshi from the Dragonball series! I love this costume! Dude even shaved his head for
the part! All he needs to complete this would be a big turtle shell on his back! [insert name here]
has got Roshi down!
Cool! More Pokémon cosplayers! Here's [insert name here] and [insert name here] as Misty
and Brock! Brock even has Vulpix! That Vulpix doll, by the way, is extremely hard to find. It's a
rare giveaway promo from Kentucky Fried Chicken of all places. I've got one.
Here's Lime from Saber Marionette J played by [insert name here] and an as of yet unidentified
person. I'm sure I'll eventually find out who she is and who she's playing. I'll add that here
whenever I get it.
Once again, here's Carmen in costume, this time as some sort of butterfly. Not sure if it's anime-
related, but it sure is elaborate and eyecatching.
Hey, it's [insert name here] and [insert name here] again as Sakura and Kero-chan, but this time with
more friends from Card Captor Sakura. From left to right: [insert name here] as Syaoran,
[insert name here] as Sakura, [insert name here] as Mei Lin, [insert name here] as Tomoyo, and
[insert name here] as Kero-chan.
Here's [insert name here] and his big cardboard shoulders as Ilpalazzo from Excel Saga. I ran
into him near the elevators. Unfortunately, I didn't catch him with his guitar.
This is a twist. Here's April and a friend dressed up as Rocket grunts from Pokémon, but as
hippies. Creative touch!

Day Two - Waiting for Cosplay
|
Day turned into late afternoon and it was time to get in line for cosplay. It was a pretty long wait.
My friend, Jim, my sister and her boyfriend waited in line while I wandered around to photograph stuff.
Oh, damn! It's a couple of Final Fantasy Tonberries! Watch out!
Here's [insert name here] and her giant demon-killing boomerang dressed as Sango from Inuyasha.
Here's a friend of "umipixie" dressed as the ever-popular Sanosuke from Rurouni Kenshin.
Cool! It's Saria from The Legend of Zelda - The Ocarina of Time! Wait a minute! I thought
Kokiri couldn't leave the forest! Anyway, here she's played by [insert name here].
This is cool! Akazukin Cha-Cha cosplayers! I really wish that show would come stateside. It's
a hilarious anime about a little girl training to be a witch. Here we have Cha-Cha, Riiya (in wolf form),
and the witch Dorothy, played by [insert name here], [insert name here] and [insert name here].
