| Day 1 - Walking to the Exhibitor Hall |
There wasn't much happening after Opening Ceremonies. I was supposed to go to Monica Rial's Q & A panel but it kinda got cancelled and taken over by another guest, Kyle Jones, who's an ADR director at ADV Films. He had to leave really soon back for Texas and had to take Monica Rial's time slot. I caught the tail end of the panel and watched a hilarious movie of many ADV voice actors and sock puppets. After this, I decided I'd make my way to the Exhibitor's Hall and see what kind of stuff they were selling this year. Of course, I easily got sidetracked talking to people and taking lots of pictures along the way...
Yay! It's "Big Chris" Vance. Here he is dressed as Afro Samurai. This is one of many costumes
he'd wear over the weekend. Chris is awesome. He gives as many hugs as he gets, which is a lot.
Here's another shot of Chris with me in it.
"Objection!" The famous cry from the Ace Attorney games, here is Phoenix Wright exclaiming it
complete with word balloon and finger pointing.
Apparently, these guys are from that old CG-animated show, Reboot. Never watched it.
Cool cosplay, nonetheless.
Here's Sakura from Naruto, complete with gag balloon. No idea who's on her right though.
It's official. Mario and Sonic are in a game together - the game called "real life". And I'm
caught up in it.
It's "PacificPyro" as Zack from Final Fantasy VII: Last Order again, and this time with
other friends. It's another Advent Children Tifa, and now we've got Cloud this time,
also from Advent Children.
More Naruto cosplayers. This one is, I think, Naruto as the fox demon? I really had no clue.
Some guy in the middle. And another Naruto on the right.
This is Nero from Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus. This costume looked sick!
Gotta give props for... good props.
This is a pretty good Gendo from Neon Genesis Evangelion...
...But what's even better is a really good Asuka!
It's Winry from Fullmetal Alchemist in the ever-popular bra-and-mechanic-suit version.
Lots of Winrys this year thanks to the "Mignogna-magnetism" in the air.
Here's another shot of the same Winry, with friends dressed as Edward and Alphonse.
We saw these two outside and called them over to be in the photo. Naturally, other photographers
took notice and started snapping. This tended to happen a lot whenever I asked people to gather for
pics.
Here's some villain guy whose name I can't remember from Naruto along with "Sexy Jutsu" Naruto.
Here's Joe Higashi from the Fatal Fury and King of Fighters games. Funny story. As I
was about to take his photo, a Convention Hall security guard came up to him and basically said he
wasn't allowed to run around shirtless. So, I guess I was the last one to take his photo
as Joe Higashi should look. It's funny 'cause this didn't seem to deter plenty of other guys to run around
shirtless for their cosplay. Oh well.
I want to say that this is a really good Yomiko from the Read or Die series, but part of me
thinks I may be wrong and she's cosplaying as some other character. But since I really like R.O.D
and Yomiko's my favorite character, I'll just keep imagining this is her.
It's a mother-daughter Sailor Scout team up! Well, not really. The cosplayers aren't mother-daughter,
but their characters, Sailor Moon and Sailor Chibi Moon are. (If you're not sure, Sailor Moon's the one
on the right.) If I remember correctly, these are the Sailor Moon SuperS versions. Here, Sailor
Moon is played by "Pika Pika Queen" from the Sakura Con Message Boards.
Here is a pretty good Princess Zelda from The Legend of Zelda. I believe this is the "Ocarina
of Time" version.
